PIllars of Mercy

The Pillars of Mercy, the women’s ministry-arm of Mercy Seat Chapel, was established with a vision of bringing women together for a godly purpose that includes service, edification for spiritual growth, empowerment, and positive influence in the community.

The group’s name stems from key words from Pro 31:10 and 16, and Heb 4:16. Parts of Prov 31:10 and 16 say “A capable, intelligent, and [b]virtuous woman…, girds herself with strength [spiritual, mental, and physical fitness for her God-given task] and makes her arms strong and firm…” Hebrew 4:16 another very descriptive verse states “Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God’s unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it]”.

Put together the words capable, intelligent, strong, and firm, incites another word: “Pillar”.  In other words, a woman, who plays the role of a pillar, needs to be capable, intelligent, strong, and firm. As Pillars in the home, church, and community at large, women need to approach God’s presence boldly to receive mercy, and find grace to accomplish their God-given purposes. This group propagates that Mercy Seat Chapel’s women are “Pillars of Mercy”!
